Hello all,
Glad to be back on banditalley. Just bought a 2002 Bandit 600 X.
My problem is that the rev counter does not work. I removed the rev counter and there are three wires at the back, one is black and white which is negative, another is black and red strip which is positive and lastly orange which is positive again. I collected to a meter and with the engine running I get a pulsing effect on the meter when connect to the negative and other wire. One positive produces a pulsing result on the meter and the other is constant.
I know this sounds like a load of waffle but that the way it is.
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY REV COUNTER ITSELF IS FAULTY?
IS THERE ANY WAY OF TESTING IT?
CANNOT GET INSIDE IT, SEEMS TO BE A SEALED UNIT.
WOULD THE NEEDLE MOVE IF WIRED IT TO A 12V POWER SOURCE? TRIED IT BUT NOTHING HAPPENED.
