Up 2 in the rear
« on: September 04, 2005, 01:31:10 AM »
I don't know if it is common knowledge, but here it is.  For those decide to add 2 teeth to the rear sprocket, add 2 links if you are installing a new chain.  I was told before that you could use a stock 1100 link chain if you add 2 teeth to the rear.  Well it may be true for a used chain, but not for a new chain.  I will have to wait for the chain to stretch a bit before I can swap my rear sprocket.  So basically if you plan on going to a 47 tooth w/ a new chain, expect to use 112 links.

You could go -1 up front on your current chain. That would be about the same as going +3 in the back.
