okay i am looking for a new type of exhaust for my bike... i bought this bike back in september and want to do some mods to it... first thing is the exhaust then the second is a jet kit... but im looking for a louder exhaust then stock... i am looking for the louder higher pitched sound so i can actually hear my bike... i have a 99 600 S... whats your guys' suggestions and if you could maybe post some site links so i know where to go

i was just looking at the jardine website and they have exhaust for the 2000-2003 bandit 600 it is a slip on... would this work on a 99 bandit or not??

i would look into the holeshot slip on, the yoshi, scorpion slip- ons. these all are good pipes and sound good with out being to loud. they also hold up for quit awhile. have heard the holeshot 14" comp on a b6 sounded sweet. also heard a yoshi, also sounded good, and the scorpion sounds a little bit more mellow. all are good pipes for the price.

I have a 97 600 and I have a D&D bolt on can and it sounds great! I got a 1200 midpipe from one of the guys on this board and just bolted it right up. My 600 sounds similar to Roamr's 1200 with his Scorpion can. It made a big difference!

If Jardine hangs the can with a band clamp (like most do) it will.
If they weld a tab to the can, it won't.

For just about any other brand, there's tons of discounters out there that sell Yosh, Muzzy, Jardine, Two Bros, Micron, Scorpion, D&D, Hindle, V&H, Akro, etc.

so i was looking around and can find all the cans in the world but where can i get a midpipe in order to use most of the slip ons.... my midpipe is welded to the stock muffler so i would need a new one

If they're listing your bike's year and model and it needs a midpipe, it should come with it. For instance, Holeshot's cans all come with mid pipes, regardless and Yoshimura includes a midpipe for their '01-'05 B12 (which works on any B12 or B6).

i know i am asking a lot of questions but i am trying to find the best deal for what i am looking for... so how does the D&D can sound... and does it come with a midpipe??

the longer pipes are not as loud as the shorter ones. the 17"is what i use to run it is of average sound levels. the 14 is a bit louder. the 21 is a bit on the quiet side. most of the d&d pipes for bandit i have seen are just a bolt on can no midpipe. not sure of the newer ones? but as Red stated if it needed a midpipe it would come with it.

As stated, length is related to noise in the Holeshot cans, but in the 17" ("standard") series, there's two cores, a "race" core and a "street" core. The street version is quieter and sacrifices a pony or two on top. The 14" cans use the race core (they're mostly designed to work with the high pipe and are louder than the 17" race, but don't make any more/less power) and the 21" can uses the street core... but then all this is covered on the Holeshot site.
