Sold the 750, Picking up a 12
« on: August 19, 2005, 11:42:31 AM »
Well I sold my 96 Bandit 750 conversion this week.. It was fun, but just not enough of what I was looking for. I get to go pick up the replacement tomorrow, a low milage 98 B12 in red. I went and test drove it last weekend, and wow, the torque on the 12 is awsome. Im definately looking foward to the ride home. A friend of the family owned the 12, and I know personally that it has been very well maintained, he just quit riding it due to back surgery. As it stands, its been jetted, has a bolt on, as well as some other nice little add ons..

Hey congrats on the new ride.     You'll have to post an update on the ride home and the dif between the two since all the old bike quirks will still be freash in your mind.

I have a 600 and love it, but maybe one day I will grow up and get a B12. Of course on my budget it will have to be one heck of a great deal.

Nice!  :bigok:

Looks like it is ready for its second valve adjustment.
Nice low miles for a bike that's almost 8 years old.  :beers:

Now let's yank that engine out, and put some big pistons in it.
Make that sucker run.

well first of, it seems like the bike is just more well refined.. this could be partially due to my 600 having 30k miles and the new 12 just a baby at 7k. I like the hydraulic clutch system on the 12 better, its just a smoother maintence free system, a must on the heavy cluches on the big engine. THe torque is nice, there is no need to downshift like I had to on the 600. It will take power what ever speed or gear your in. The turn in seems slower, partially due to the wider tires, and partly due to its increased weight. right now it could stand a new front tire which im pretty sure will help the turn in some. I need to make some adjustments to the suspension to get it better set to my weight.. i'll keep yall posted
