What do you do???????
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:42:18 PM »
I'm sure this has been done a couple dozen times here, but since I haven't been here too long and am just getting to know who's who, I thought I'd ask....What do you do??? Hobbies?? Family???
I'll start.
I was raised in a family-owned motorcycle and snowmobile shop.(Closed in 81)
In 82 I started my own sign and graphics business, and have been doing  that ever since. We also do custom paint, and sled mods, accessories and parts...Here's a pic of the "shop sled"

After 19 years of motocross and a couple years of Observed Trials, I got the bug for a street bike again, and long story short, wound up with my 03 Bandit N.

Been divorced since 02 (after almost 25 years) and I have 2 kids (Son, 24 and a daughter 18, both of whom live with me).

Anybody else care to join in?

Yeah, we do this periodically, but I never remember what everybody says!

I'm the PBX Supervisor at a 190 bed medical center in Dallas.  Operators, pagers, cellphones, radios, police dispatch, codes, training, and so forth.  That's my thing.

I'm bored sh!tless with it after 10 years.  NEED NEW JOB!

Married 23 years, two girls 11 & 16, one mutt.  No real hobbies, but I like to watch satellite TV in my downtime or piddle with the laptop.

In fact, I'm piddling now!

Nice job on the sled, it looks good...

I was an IT Engineer up until 2004, when I was put on full disability for liver disease.  I still dabble, but its all from home now...

I know you probably have some good ideas for your Bandit paint, post some pics if you ever do a project like that.

I rode MX 20 years ago, those guys do tend to like crazy graphics..  bet that was good piece of business...

Mike :)

Teacher for twenty four years.  just recently discovered alternative ed. so I now teach those kids who have failed in the regular system and i love it.  Should also say I have been teaching first nations kids for 15 years and am doing that now.

Married for 25 years and two kids.  first one is flying the coop this sept. to go off to uni - that will be interesting - hardly ever see him anyway so maybe not much of a change...always wanted six kids running around so that is a bit of a bummer - hey - who says we get what we want, eh?

have five acres and a house i built just on the edge of a small town so have a pretty good setup.

I like to write songs and sing!  Anybody else out there ?  we could get together and form a new group - The Bandits!

I'm a pressman at a local print shop. I mainly do federal govt. contract work. Foil stamping, embossing, debossing, etc. on military award certificates and the like. I have a wonderful wife,(no she's not looking over my shoulder) a 15yr old son, and a 14yr old daughter. Two teen-agers, yikes. Throw in two dogs, several fish in a 75 gallon aquarium, and a pair of zebra finches. I do alot of fishing when I'm not working or riding.

I'm the drafting supervisor at a joist and deck manufacturer (go into Lowes, look up, the corregated steel roofing and the trusses supporting it are probably ours).  Been with this company about 5 years, before that I did Mechanical and Electrical design for factory automation systems.

Been riding for 7 years first on an '84 Honda Ascot then I bought the B12 in '04

25 here, single, no kids, no pets. I am a extruder operator for a cable company (look at your cable to your tv, whether it be satellite or cable tv, i form the plastic jacket on the outside)
Bought my 98 B12 about a year ago, i have 4 days off at a time, so i have alot of time to ride, or work on my car or jeep. I am also into 4 wheeling and dabble in playing guitar (although I own 3 of them and can't really play anything) :duh:

After reading this, i realize i have alot of freetime.

Hello there...

I'm Paul.  I'm 46 and I live in the Chicago suburbs.

I married in 1984, and divorced in 1997.

Re-married to an EXCEPTIONAL woman in 2004.  One phenomenal daughter from my previous marriage who is a freshman in college.  One step-daughter who is 8 years old and also very special.

I had a lucrative career with my father's company for 15 years.

Got tired of being a legal headhunter at about the same time the market for being a legal headhunter crashed.  (1990)
I'm now a computer geek for a high school and making about half of what I did in the '80's.  No problems here - since my life is on track, I've found out what is important (God)... have a great family... and I have NO complaints.

Hey PaulVS, is that your wife in your avatar?  If so I would have to agree she is exceptional!    :beers:

I am 34, live in Bloomingdale, IL. (Chicago Suburb).

I am an Associate Technical Support Engineer, that is my title, but all I do is teach our customers how to use our equipment in a classroom setting.  Still kind of new to it but enjoying it and making a very nice salary for doing the easiest job I have ever had!

I have a wife, (No that is not her in my Avatar!) a son 5, a daughter 2, an American Bulldog 9 months, 2 turtles, and several fish, that I lose count of because the turtles seem to treat them as appetizers.

Going to college 3 nights a week to finish a degree in Electro-mechanical Technology, will be finished in one more semester, then off to Business school.

I enjoy riding my B12, fishing, boating, mountain biking, weightlifting, and spending as much time as I can with my kids.

My daughter just signed her letter of intent for College Miseracordia (Soccer scholarship)......she'll be moving on campus in mid August (Daily practice starts earlier than the actual classes). When the whole divorce thing started, I was bummed because I didn't want to be one of those every-other-weekend dads, so I was quite happy when I was awarded full time custody. She was just away on vacation for 2 weeks with "The Egg Donor", and I was a  more than happy when she finally got home, so I'm not much looking forward to having her move away to college come fall...... This is gonna suck, I can see it now.

Well I am a soon to be college Grad (eight days to graduation) from LeTourneau University (small school in East Texas) and am seeking employment in the electrical engineering field.  I would like to do design work.  I do not have a wife or kids (which is ok since I am only 22).  And I have been riding for almost a year now.

I am 25 and work at a custom rotational plastic company...make the plastic tank on toro lawnmowers all the way up to gas tanks for tractors and other very large things. I just moved back to Iowa from Ohio after being there for a year and  a half and meeting my girlfriend there. She transfered her job here with a little persuasion from me    Now all I need to do to make my life whole again is get a job on a fire department around here full time because I did that in Ohio and loved it, but had to quit  to move back to Iowa. :duh:  Ob well, I didn't like living there anyway
