Hey Folks!

I just recently bought the 2010 GSX1250FA... when people ask what kind of bike, I say "it's the Bandit with the GSXR fairing"...

I'm living back in Vancouver after a year in Montreal... Here's a picture of the new baby (without the bags):

Looking forward to any tech talk or meetups!

Beautiful!  :congrats:
Still can't figure out why Suzuki didn't bring this baby into the US this year.  :banghead:
Some forum members are getting together for a ride down to NE Oregon - Snake River Canyon area - in a couple weeks.  I think the turnout is gonna be relatively small, 3 or 4 riders from WA and 1-2 from BC so far.  The thread for the ride is here:

:thanks: Thanks, Red01.  I'm loving it more and more every day, and I started loving it a lot already.  I really wish it was available in the States, then it would make it a lot easier to get setup with some accessories I'd like to find...

As for the ride, I won't be able to go to far for a little while just yet, at least until I can get time off work ;)

Smaller rides for the meantime.

With the exception of the fairing and instrument cluster, it's a GSF1250S Bandit.  For the fairing, I believe it is the same (except for colors and decals) as the GSX650F which did come to the US in 2008 & 2009.  The instrument cluster will be different since the 650 and 1250 have different redlines.

howdy,
new to Bandit here. I bought an '09 1250, did the Holeshot stage one and pipe. My '05 Ducati Multistrada is collecting dust.
Love the fun factor of the Duc. Sick and tired with the maintenance schedule and minor quirks.

Added 2 clicks to fork and rear shock along w/ the holeshot stuff ;this bike rocks.
btw I 've put 8000m on her since may. Looking forward to a fun ride that can handle heavy use
It is nice to talk w/ people who understand my addiction-

Welcome RickyC4  :welcome:

I hope you'll like hanging out here. It's great to have some new blood on the board.

What all Holeshot stuff did you add. I assume a K&N Filter/airbox mod, the fuel injector box and a slip-on, or did you add the full exhaust system?

My good friend Cargo7 lives in Vancouver with his '03 B12 and Red01 is just south of you on the Olympic Peninsula. Keep us in mind as you make your plans. The Pacific North West forum usually has discussioin on some of us in BC and Washington trying to work out group rides.

Hello Everyone:
Bought my 2008 Bandit 1250 last week and I love it!  This is after having a 2003 Kawasaki Z1000 for a few years.  Love the look of the Kawi and the specs, but its just too damn uncomfortable to ride and needs a major tune up...so I'm selling it!  I already feel more confident riding the Bandit..the Kawi always felt a little skiddish around the corners.

The only mods I have planned for my bike are some softer grips and some kind of bag on the back.  Hard plastic, not fabric or leather.  I think the bike is fine the way it is otherwise.

Going to do an oil change this week.  Bought a Fram (I know..I don't care for that brand) Motorcycle PH6018 filter for it.  I found that # listed for my bike online and the parts store had one in stock.  Anyone else use that filter..or a better one?

and Red01 is just south of you on the Olympic Peninsula.

Not on the Oly Penn... IN Puget Sound - on Camano Island, and the bridge that connects me to the mainland is on the east side of the Sound between Mt. Vernon and Everett.  :trustme:

Always willing to get together with fellow PNW riders for trips thru the twisties!  :beers:

The list below is from the FAQ section for the 600-1200 Bandits, but your 1250 uses the same filter:

Suzuki 16510-06B01
STP SMO-18
HiFlo HF138
Amsoil SMF109
K&N KN-138
Wix 51359
NAPA Gold 1359 (same as WIX 51359)
Carquest 85359
Perf-Form J-509
Purolator ML6818/ML16818
Fram PH6018 (not a good filter)

In most areas, the Purolator, STP and/or NAPA/Wix filters are usually easy to find in chain auto parts stores for about the same price as the Fram. Just about every car/bike enthusiast forum out there will have lots of folks telling you to steer clear of Fram.

Thank you Red!  I searched the forums before I bought the filter and couldn't find anything definitive about the oil filters for this bike.  Seemed like there were a lot of "I think it'll works."  I'm going to bookmark this for sure!

Beautifull picture GSF1811. That section of road looks a lot like the road just south of me, going into Metaline Falls.

Where is it? Sure looks nice with the leaves all changing colours.

Welcome to the site, I hope you like hanging out here.  :welcome:
